You will have the opportunity to visit the Basilica of S. Marco with a guide during night-time.

You can attend the visit either on Wednesday, November 20th or on Wednesday, November 27th.
If you want to participate, sign up the list on the front door of corridor 9.

Synopsis:

As a family from India moves in to a desert neighborhood in Southern Israel in the 1960′s, the family’s eldest, beautiful daughter discovers friendship and romance with the lovely local French girl. The film also explores the hardships and surprises that come with the integration of multiple families from different ethnic backgrounds (from the diaspora) and their struggle with immigration and prejudice.

On Thursday, November 14th, students from “Art and Architecture in Renaissance Venice” will visit Frari Church with Professor Pattanaro.

The meeting point is at San Zaccaria boat stop at 11 am OR in front of Frari Church at 11.15 am. Please don’t be late.

 

Visit to the Industrial Port and Islands

Friday, November 15th, all day, Industrial Port and Islands

The deadline for confirmation is on Wednesday, November 13th, 12 am.

The trip includes visits to the Industrial Port and several Islands of the lagoon: Pellestrina, S. Erasmo and Torcello.

This activity is compulsory for the courses “History of Venice” (Prof. Pes) and “Training in UNESCO World Heritage Studies” (Prof. Gianighian). The trip is open to all students and professors.

If you want to participate, please sign up in the list on the door of corridor 9 and bring  a deposit of 5 € to the Front Office by Wednesday, November 13th, 12 am (students of Prof. Pes and Prof. Gianighian will be reimbursed after the trip).

Detailed program

9.00 am Meeting point at San Basilio vaporetto stop and departure by boat
11.30 am Visit to the Industrial Port by boat and trip to the Pellestrina Island.
11.30 am – 12.30 pm Visit to the Museum of Pellestrina Island and visit to Murazzi dam.
12.30 pm – 1.30 pm Transfer to S. Erasmo Island and visit to the  Torre Massimiliana
1.30 pm – 2.30 pm Options for your lunch: bring your packed lunch or stop at the Restaurant at S. Erasmo
2.30 pm – 3.00 pm Visit to Torcello Island and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
5.00/5.15 pm Return to Venice

We warmly suggest you to bring your own lunch since we probably will not have enough time to stop at a bar or restaurant in Sant’Erasmo.

Visit to Teatro La Fenice

Wednesday, Nov 6th, Visit to Teatro La Fenice, San Zaccaria boat stop, 3 pm

This visit is compulsory for the course “Architectural and Urban Heritage” (Prof. Zucconi, Prof. Di Lenardo) as it counts as a normal class. You will visit the theatre with an English speaking guide and Prof. Di Lenardo.
The meeting point is at San Zaccaria boat stop at 3 pm, the schedule is quite strict so please don’t be late. If you prefer to meet straight at the Teatro La Fenice (click here for the map), be there no later than 3.15 pm.
