From April 1, the ACTV boat lines will change according to the following timetable.
Please check all changes and news on ACTV web site.

One hour of piano performance and brief introduction on The Adoration of the Earth and The Sacrifice, the two parts of the ballet “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky
by the “Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari” & “Il Contrappunto Veneziano” Musical Associations.

VIU Movies series: La notte di San Lorenzo

Monday, March 30, at 5 pm in room 9A.

A film by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani.
Winner of the Best Film Prize and the Critics International Award at Cannes.

The film follows the inhabitants of a town near Pisa during the end of World War II. Defeat is certain for the Germans, and the front is retreating back to Germany, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. The Germans plan to bomb several buildings in the town, and have told all the villagers to congregate in the town’s church. Approximately half of the town decides to stay, and place their trust in the church. The rest of the town dresses in dark clothing, and go out to seek the Americans, who are rumored to be nearby liberating towns as they come to them.

This visit is open also to other participants: the attendance fee is 8 euros per person, to be collected at the Front Office before Thursday at 3 p.m.

Meeting point: San Servolo Island (in front of the boat stop) at 9.30 am

For all the students who wish to participate, please sign your name in the list in corridor 9. The visit is sponsored by the VIU for students attending the mentioned courses, whereas for those who are not enrolled in these courses the fee is 8 euros per person.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Entrance fee collected at the front office before Thursday at 3 p.m.

Program:

9.30 am departure from S. Servolo dock. We will depart with a private boat: please be punctual!

arrival to Pellestrina island:

• Visit to the Museum of the Lagoon
• Visit to Murazzi;

visit to Ca’ Roman.

Return expected at about 1.30 pm at S. Servolo dock.

Suggestions:

Wear conformable clothes and shoes since we are going to walk.

Tomorrow morning there will be a solar eclipse, if you wish to watch the eclipse you will need particular glasses!! Watching it bare eye can damage your sight permanently.

After the guided visit to the Ca’ Roman Nature Reserve, there will be time (little less than an hour) to visit the reserve by yourself,  to have a little pic-nic or to play on the beach.

Therefore bring your sandwiches, Frisbee, a ball, etc..
