Conversation with Pedro Lasch and members of Biennale Urbana and Associazione Teatro Marinoni
Open Class of the course Globalization, Ethics, Welfare and Human Rights
Monday, October 12, Clasroom 9A at 11 am
Visual artist and Duke professor Pedro Lasch and Italian members of Biennale Urbana and Associazione Teatro Marinoni will visit this class to present a current collaboration they have developed in Lido as an extension of a work produced for the Creative Time Summit and 56th Venice Biennale. Learning about many relevant aspects of globalization and contemporary social practice through the project’s various methods of fusing flags and transposing anthems between countries and languages, students will also discover opportunities for them right in Venice, Lido, and other nearby places. These may be linked to the Humanities Writ Large program at Duke, the ongoing artistic work of the Biennale Urbana, or the environmental and historical rescue efforts of the Associazione Teatro Marinoni in Lido.
